What it costs

The camera is how we avoid guessing with your money

A clog and a broken pipe can look the same from the sink. Clearing the line and then running a camera through it shows which one you have, so you pay for the fix the pipe needs. The estimate is free.

  • What the camera shows: roots, grease, a break, or a low spot

How the guarantee works

Is the clog in one drain or in the main sewer line?

Count how many drains are slow. One slow sink or tub usually means the clog is close to that fixture, in the trap or the branch line behind the wall. When more than one drain backs up at the same time, the clog is most likely in the main line that carries everything out to the street. Watch the lowest drain in the house. If the basement floor drain or shower fills when you run the washing machine or flush upstairs, the main line is blocked. A toilet that gurgles when the sink drains points the same way. If you think it is the main line, stop running water in the whole house, keep people and pets away from any sewage, and call us. Our drain cleaning page explains what we do next.

What is the difference between a drain cable and hydro jetting?

A drain cable is a steel cable with a cutting head on the end. A machine spins it down the pipe until the head breaks through the clog or cuts the roots. It opens the line fast, and it is the right tool for most single clogs. It does not clean the pipe wall, so grease and sludge stay behind and the line can clog again. Hydro jetting sends water at high pressure through a nozzle that scrubs the full inside of the pipe. It removes the grease, scale, and sludge that a cable leaves. We run a camera through the line first when we do not know what shape the pipe is in, because a broken or collapsed pipe needs repair, not more pressure.

When does a sewer line need repair instead of cleaning?

A line needs repair when cleaning stops working. If the same line clogs again within weeks or months, something in the pipe is catching waste. A camera inspection shows what it is: roots growing through a joint, a cracked or collapsed section, a joint that has shifted, or a low spot that holds water. Roots are a common reason. Ogden City lists pipe breaks or cracks due to tree roots among the causes of sewer backups (source), and tells owners of older homes with a jointed lateral line to consider whether the roots of large trees or shrubs nearby could invade it (source). We can dig up and replace the bad section, or use a trenchless method when the pipe and the site allow it. We show you the camera video so you can see the problem yourself.

    Sewer Camera Inspection

    SandyAugust 2026

    Problem
The customer wanted a camera inspection of the sewer line.
    What we did
We pulled a basement toilet and ran the camera 46 feet out to the city sewer. We saw a blemish in the line at 40.5 feet and another at 35.5 feet, which look like pressure from rock or something hard under the pipe. The line was clear of roots and breaks.

    Problem
A storm water system needed to be hydro-jetted.
    What we did
We got access through the manhole, hydro-jetted the system, and cleared the debris through there.

    West JordanMay 2026

    Problem
A drain line under a manufactured home had a 19-foot belly.
    What we did
We replaced the belly and the whole line with 4-inch ABS pipe, replaced the toilet flange and set it level with the floor, and anchored the toilet.

  • Drain Cleaning

    HerrimanSeptember 2026

    Problem
A main line needed a drain cleaning.
    What we did
We cleaned the main line, ran a camera inspection to evaluate the line, and reset the toilet when we were done.
  • Sewer Camera Inspection

    HerrimanSeptember 2026

    Problem
A sewer line had backed up in the past.
    What we did
We ran a camera through the sewer from downstairs. The cleanout out front was packed with dirt and debris and its cap was missing, right at the transition between SDR pipe and ABS pipe. The cleanout needs to be dug up and the transition repaired; the rest of the line looked good.

    Problem
A kitchen line needed drain cleaning.
    What we did
We established flow on the kitchen line.
  • Sewer Camera Inspection

    TooeleSeptember 2026

    Problem
A sewer line needed a camera inspection.
    What we did
We ran the camera through the toilet about 79 feet out to the city main. The toilet line was ABS until it met the pipe under the slab, which appears to be cast iron out to the street and shows mainly rust. About 56 feet out, a piece of pipe in a no-hub seems to have shifted up enough to catch some toilet paper, but the bottom of the pipe is intact and flowing, with no sign of bellies.
  • Sewer Camera Inspection

    HerrimanJuly 2026

    Problem
A main sewer needed a camera inspection.
    What we did
We ran the camera through the SDR line from the outside cleanout all the way to the nose-on, the connection from the city tap to the home. The nose-on has slipped and is collecting a little water, and there are signs it backed up at some point. The rest of the line looked clear, with no buildup, debris, or wear.
  • Sewer Camera Inspection

    OremJuly 2026

    Problem
A line needed a camera inspection.
    What we did
We ran a camera through the line and found no signs of blockages, buildup, or wear and tear. The pipe is SDR.
  • Sewer Camera Inspection

    ProvoJuly 2026

    Problem
The customer wanted a camera inspection of the sewer line.
    What we did
We ran the camera from the outside cleanout about 65 feet out. The pipe is SDR, with about 5 feet of cast iron at the cleanout. We found no slipped joints, the line was clear and free of debris, and we recommended no repairs.
  • Sewer Camera Inspection

    ProvoJuly 2026

    Problem
A sewer lateral needed a camera inspection.
    What we did
We ran a camera through the lateral, which is about 116 feet long. We found a belly about 5 feet long, where the pipe is cement asbestos. We recommended a spot repair in the road to fix the belly and double sweep cleanouts in the front yard for future access.

Drain and sewer questions

Is yours not here? Call (385) 338-6068 and ask. We would rather answer it than have you guess.

Do you charge for an estimate?

No. Estimates are free.

Should I pour drain cleaner in before you come?

No. Chemical drain cleaner sits in the pipe when it does not clear the clog, and it can burn skin and eyes when the line is opened. If you already used one, tell us before we start.

Do you clean drains for restaurants and other businesses?

Yes. We clean commercial drains and service grease traps. See the commercial page for more.

My drain backed up at night. Can I call now?

Yes. A person answers our emergency line 24/7. Stop running water and keep people and pets away from any sewage until we get there.
