What is happening?
Tap any line to call. We ask a few questions first.
What should I do right now?
Do the step that matches what you see, then call us.
- Burst or leaking pipe: close the main water valve. It is usually where the water line enters the house, often in the basement or near the water heater. If the pipe froze, see frozen and burst pipes.
- Water near outlets, cords, or the electrical panel: stay out of standing water. Shut off power at the breaker only if you can reach it from a dry spot.
- Sewage coming up a drain: stop running water in the whole house. Keep people and pets away from it.
- Leaking water heater: close the cold water supply valve on top of the heater.
- Gas smell: leave the building. Call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Call us after they say it is safe.
When you call, tell us what you see, where it is, and what you have already shut off. That helps us bring the right equipment.
What counts as a plumbing emergency?
It is an emergency when waiting will cause damage or leave the building unsafe to use. That includes a pipe that is spraying or leaking and will not stop, sewage backing up into a tub or floor drain, a water heater that is leaking from the tank, a sump pump that has quit while water is rising in the pit, and no heat from a boiler in freezing weather. A single slow drain, a dripping faucet, or a toilet that runs can usually wait for a scheduled visit, and you can book that online. If you are not sure which one you have, call. We will ask a few questions and tell you whether it can wait until morning.
What can I do while I wait for the plumber?
Keep the water off and leave the valve closed, even if the leak seems to stop. Move rugs, boxes, and furniture away from the water if you can do it from a dry spot. Open the cabinet doors under a leaking sink and set a bucket under the drip. Take a few photos for your insurance company before you clean up. Clear a path to the problem and to the water heater or main valve so we can get to work as soon as we walk in. Do not pour chemical drain cleaner into a backed-up drain, because it can burn skin when the line is opened. Do not try to relight, vent, or adjust a gas appliance. Leave that to a licensed plumber.

Common questions
Is yours not here? Call (385) 338-6068 and ask. We would rather answer it than have you guess.
Will a real person answer at 2 a.m.?
Yes. Our emergency line is answered 24/7.
Do you charge for an emergency estimate?
No. Estimates are free.
Where is my main water shut-off valve?
Look where the water line enters the house. In most Utah homes that is in the basement, a utility room, or near the water heater. Turn a round handle clockwise until it stops. Turn a lever handle a quarter turn so it sits across the pipe.
I smell gas. Should I call you first?
No. Leave the building and call the gas utility or 911 from outside. Call us after they tell you it is safe. We repair and replace gas lines.
Do you cover my city?
We serve nine northern Utah counties from Lehi. The service areas page lists each one.
